About the Technology Assistance Program (TAP)
The MSVUSU Technology Assistance Program (TAP) is a proactive response to close this digital access gap by providing students with the tools they need to succeed. Our Technology Assistance Program (TAP) is an initiative designed to bridge the digital access gap for students who face financial or accessibility barriers to learning.
Through TAP, MSVUSU via the Office of the VP-Research & Graduate Students Affairs has developed a three-pronged approach:
-
Laptop Acquisition Support (LAS): Provide laptop acquisition support to students experiencing financial hardship
-
Disability Technology Support Program (DTSP): Offer specialized technology for students with disabilities, and
-
Laptop Loan Pool (LLP): Maintain a laptop loan pool for short-term academic use.
In this phase, we are launching the Laptop loan initiative with an inventory of 30 laptops for short-term (48-72-hour renewable) loans, ensuring students can meet urgent academic needs without interruption.
