The Vice President Advocacy and Undergraduate Student Affairs is a part-time executive position, compensated with hourly wages at the Nova Scotia Minimum wage plus 24% ($18.85/hour) for 25 hours/week. This is a Summer Term appointment with a term starting immediately after appointment and continuing until the conclusion of the fall by-election.
 

As the Vice President Advocacy and Undergraduate Student Affairs, you will be responsible for providing 1:1 and collective advocacy on behalf of the student body, oversee the Pride Center, act as the Undergraduate Advocate for the Academic Appeals Support Program, oversee the Naloxone distribution program and represent students at the Canadian Federation of Students. You will also foster positive relationships with various on-campus student support units and community groups and promote a culture of academic integrity on campus.
 

This position requires you to be a MSVU student enrolled in at least 0.5 credits, one audit course, or a thesis in either Fall or Summer terms. and be a senior student entering their 3rd year or higher, in good standing with MSVU. You must also hold or be able to acquire Mental Health First Aid, Bystander Intervention training, site-lead specific Naloxone distribution and administration training, and Tri council ethics certification (TCPS 2 Core). Previous experience working in advocacy spaces or lived experience as a person from an equity-denied group is preferred.
